'Message-Oriented Text Interchange Standard (MOTIS)' is an ISO messaging standard based on the ITU-T X.400 Message Handling Service (MHS) standard.
It plays a similar role to the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) in the TCP/IP protocol suite.
