MICHAEL GROSS (WRITER)

'Michael Gross' (born 1952 in New York City), is an author and journalist. He has a B.A. in History from Vassar College.
His most recent book is ''740 Park: The Story of the World's Richest Apartment Building'' (Broadway Books, 2005). Previously he published ''Genuine Authentic: The Real Life of Ralph Lauren'' (Harper Collins, 2002), ''My Generation: Fifty Years of Sex, Drugs, Rock, Revolution, Glamour, Greed, Valor, Faith and Silicon Chips'' (Cliff Street Books, 2000) and
''Model: The Ugly Business of Beautiful Women'' (William Morrow, 1995). ''Model'' was a New York Times betselling book.
He is a contributing editor of ''Travel and Leisure'' magazine and a columnist for Contribute, the philanthropy magazine; has been a guest editor of gawker.com and has also written extensively for the ''The New York Times'', ''New York'' magazine, ''Esquire magazine'', ''GQ'', ''Vanity Fair'',
''Town & Country'' and ''The Times''.
His sister is Jane Gross, a reporter for the New York Times, where he also once worked. Their father, Milton Gross, was also a journalist and author.
