MIKE DILLON (MUSICIAN)

'Mike Dillon' (aka Mike D) is a percussionist, vibraphonist, vocalist and songwriter born in San Antonio, Texas. He is a member of the Seattle-based Critters Buggin and has performed with many musicians, most notably Les Claypool's Fancy Band and Frog Brigade, Ani DiFranco, Stanton Moore (including Garage A Trois and Galactic), Malachy Papers, Brave Combo, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Marco Benevento, Reed Mathis and New Orlean's musicians Kevin O'Day, Johnny Vidacovich and James Singleton. With Skerik and Singleton he toured in 2007 as Illuminasty Trio. Dillon also performed in the 80's with local Dallas and Denton favorites Ten Hands. In the 90's he led Dallas/Kansas City-based Billy Goat and in the 2000's Austin-based Hairy Apes BMX (HABMX).
He released his self-titled CD in 2003, and has been featured on CDs by several artists listed above among others. In 2006 he started a funky new project "Mike Dillon's Go-Go Jungle" which includes members of Billy Goat, drummer "Go-Go" Ray Pollard, and bassist, J.J. "Jungle" Richards. Also, contributing to the Go-Go Jungle release ''Battery Milk'' is long-time associate, saxophonist Mark Southerland of Malachy Papers. The live Go-Go Jungle also performs songs from Billygoat and HABMX.
Dillon resides in New Orleans, Louisiana.
