MILLARD PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The 'Millard Public Schools' is a school district in the southwest part of Omaha, Nebraska; the school district is named after the former city of Millard. The district has programs such as the International Baccalaureate program offered by Millard North High school, and is the only district in Nebraska to offer IB. The district also offers many other programs.
The current Superintendent for Millard Public Schools is Keith Lutz, and the current MPS Board President is Brad Burwell.
In 2005, the district resolved to fight the "one-city, one school district" measure made by the Omaha Public Schools to take over all Millard schools that reside in the City of Omaha. Some suggest that this fight will lag on for years in the courts and the legislature in Nebraska. Some also say that people should not expect anything such as an annexation by OPS before the 2005-06 school year. Millard is the third largest district in Nebraska. The district currently has three high schools: Millard North High School, Millard West High School, and Millard South High School.
