MILLSTREET
'Millstreet' (''Sráid an Mhuilinn'' in Irish) is a town in west County Cork, Ireland with a population of approximately 1,500. The Eurovision Song Contest was held in Millstreet in 1993. The town's Catholic church is dedicated to St. Patrick.
In October 2005, the town marked the twentieth anniversary of its twinning with Pommerit le Vicomte in Brittany, France.
In July 2006, Millstreet hosted the 29th European Juggling Convention. Over 2,000 jugglers from 40 different countries attended the week-long event.
The town is situated on the Mallow–Killarney–Tralee line of the Irish railway network. Millstreet railway station opened on 16 April 1853 and closed for goods traffic on 6 September 1976.[1]
