The Union Finance Ministry of India comprises of four departments:

DEA is mainly responsible for economic policies of the Government of India.

The Department of Disinvestments came into existence in December 1999 and is responsible for systematic policy approach to disinvestment and privatisation of Public Sector Units (PSUs).
