MISSION CREEK (KANSAS)
'Mission Creek' is a waterbody east of Topeka, Kansas. The tributary of the Kaw River goes through both Wabaunsee County, Kansas (where it begins) and Shawnee County, Kansas (passing to the west of Topeka in it's run to the Kaw). Native American tribes lived in the area during the Kansas Territory years. It was an important underground railroad site. A later organized township is named after the waterbody.
