'Morinda City', Ropar is also known as Baghawala, "the city of gardens". This is located on Chandigarh-Ludhiana highway. The total population of this city is about 10,000.
There is a government owned sugar mill in this city.As far as its geographical condition is concerned ,it is located on Chandigarh - Ludhiana highway ,so for the businessmen its a paradise.That's why this city is developing and expanding at faster rate than its neighbouring towns.Lot of industries of nearby towns like bassi pathana etc have shifted themselves to Morinda.
There is a Historical Gurudwara,Shahid Ganj.
This city is a intersection point of Nangal-Ludhiana,Patiala- Nangal and Chandigarh- Ludhiana Highways.
