MOUNTAIN VIEW CORRIDOR

The 'Mountain View Corridor' is a planned freeway that will run along the west bench of Salt Lake County and into northwest Utah County. It will start just west of Salt Lake City International Airport, diverging from Interstate 80, and end in Lindon, Utah, connecting to Interstate 15; running north-south at 5600 West for most of its 40 mile plus extent before curving eastward into I-15. Plans call for the majority of the freeway to have five lanes in each direction, including a HOV lane.
Currently the project is in the middle of an Environmental Impact Statement. This process will be completed in late 2007, after which the biggest obstacle will be funding this massive highway project. One proposal under discussion is to make the new freeway a toll road and use a public/private partnership to fund the project.
The cities that the freeway will pass through include:

Salt Lake City, Utah

Magna, Utah

West Valley City, Utah

Kearns, Utah

Copperton, Utah

West Jordan, Utah

South Jordan, Utah

Riverton, Utah

Herriman, Utah

Bluffdale, Utah

Draper, Utah

Camp Williams, Utah

Eagle Mountain, Utah

Saratoga Springs, Utah

Lehi, Utah

American Fork, Utah

Pleasant Grove, Utah

Lindon, Utah
