mascara or mouaskar in native algerians dialect is a city in the north west of algeria.it serves also as the capital of the 29 th state with the same name mascara. the city proper has a population over 110.000 people not to mention the very close surrounding area of ksibia and el mamounia which rise the population of the city to 180.000 people. mascara was the capitale city of l'emir abdel kader the famous leader who stood up against the french occupation in algeria he was also a native of this area. mascara played an important role in algeria's history since the roman era . mascara today is one of the leading cities in algeria especialy in agriculter and industry. famous natives of mascara:
