NAMMO


'Nammo' short for 'Nordic Ammunition Group' is a Norwegian military industry manuacturer of ammunition. The company has subsidiaries in Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden and the United States. The company is owned 50/50 by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Finnish defence company Patria. The company has its headquarters in Raufoss, Norway.
The company has four business divisions: Small Caliber Division, Medium & Large Caliber Division, Missile Products Division, and Demil Division. The company has locations at Raufoss, Aurskog, Løkken Verk (Norway), Lindesberg, Karlsborg, Vingåker, Björkborn (Sweden), Vihtavuori, Tampere (Finland), Schönebeck, Pinnow (Germany), Talley Defense Systems and Washington D.C. (United States).

History


Nammo was founded in 1998 by Raufoss, Patria, and Celsius. Raufoss was later demerged continued though operations by Norsk Hydro and Raufoss Technology. The ownership of Nammo was transferred to the government of Norway.
