NANSEMOND RIVER

The 'Nansemond River' is a tributary of the James River in the U.S. state of Virginia. Bridges over it include the Nansemond River Bridge (U.S. Route 17) and Kings Highway Bridge (State Route 125), both once toll bridges. It passes near downtown Suffolk, forming the old north city limits.
One of the three high schools in Suffolk, VA is named Nansemond River High School after the river.
