NATIONAL HARBOR, MARYLAND

'National Harbor' is a 300-acre new urbanist mixed use waterfront development being built by the The Peterson Companies, located on the shores of the Potomac River in Prince Georges County, Maryland just across the river from Alexandria, Virginia, south of Washington, D.C. It proposed to be the largest single mixed-use project and combined convention center–hotel complex on the East Coast when it is completed, and the project is worth more than $2.1 billion. It contains in addition to the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, some waterfront condos, offices, various nightspots, and a marina. A new location for the National Children's Museum is planned in addition to five new hotels.

National Harbor will have direct road access from the Capital Beltway, I-295, and Maryland Route 414. In addition a proposed water taxi is expected to serve National Harbor, connecting it to Ronald Reagan National Airport, Alexandria, Virginia, Mount Vernon, the Nationals Ballpark, and the Georgetown neighborhood in Washington D.C.
