'National Museums Liverpool', previously known as 'National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside', comprises several museums in and around
Liverpool,
England.
Description
National Museums Liverpool has its origin in 1851. It is currently hosted in seven different venues, some outside Liverpool itself: the
Lady Lever Art Gallery, for example, is in
Wirral. In 1980, there were over one million items in the collection. It is the only National Museums Service in the UK outside London.
