The 'Naval War College' ( ''Kaigun Daigakkō''; Short form: 海大 ''Kaidai'') of the Empire of Japan was founded in Tsukiji, Tokyo in 1888, the same year the Imperial Japanese Naval Academy moved from Tsukiji to Etajima, Hiroshima. It was establish to modernize and Westernize the Imperial Japanese Navy.
