NEW BRIGHTON, CALGARY

'New Brighton' is a new suburban residential neighbourhood in the south-east quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located at the eastern edge of the city, and is bounded by 52 Street E to the west, 72 Street E to the east, McIvor Boulevard to the south and the Sheppard landfill site to the north. When the city completes its proposed (as yet unnamed) East Freeway, this will replace 72 Street as the community's eastern boundary.

The community was designed by Carma Developers LP.[1] The community is touted by Carma as being their first that is "on-line", i.e. there is an interactive community website.[2]
It is represented in the Calgary City Council by Ward 12 Alderman Ric McIver.
