'Hartman Arena'[1][2] is a new 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Park City, Kansas, United States that is currently in the planning stages. [3] The new arena may open in the summer of 2008. Once completed, it will host the home games of the Wichita Wild indoor football team. [4]

Unfortunately, the progress of the new arena took a big hit when the new casino gambling and slot machines for the Wichita Greyhound Park issue was voted down in August 2007. Shortly thereafter, the Greyhound Park announced it will close, Wild West World has already closed and filed for bankruptcy, and the Kansas Coliseum will be dormant or turned into a rodeo arena as soon as the new downtown arena is completed.
It remains to be seen whether the city of Park City will be able to deliver on its promises to help get the Hartman Arena built because of the failure of the surrounding businesses and loss of massive tax dollars.
