NEW STRAND SHOPPING CENTRE
The 'New Strand Shopping Centre', known locally as 'The Strand', is the main shopping centre or mall in the town of Bootle, Merseyside. It opened in the 1960s, and was extended in 1999 to provide additional retail outlets, as well as additional car parking facilities. It holds a variety of shops and food outlets. 'The Strand' was the scene of the abduction of toddler James Bulger in 1993.
It is served by the Bootle New Strand railway station running on the Northern Line, with trains running to Southport and Liverpool.
