NEW YORK STATE ROUTE 169
'New York State Route 169' is a state highway in New York, running through the city of Little Falls to the village of Middleville in Herkimer County.
NY 169 enters Little Falls city limits south of the Mohawk River/Erie Canal, crossing a bridge over that before joining with NY5/NY 167 for a quarter mile. NY 169 then leaves the concurrency; at that point an erroneous sign for North NY 170 is placed. NY 169 is now on Main Street, which becomes a one-way couplet at its intersection with Albany Street, which will carry NY 169 south through downtown. NY 169 then turns north on North Ann Street, stopping at Monroe Street. East Monroe (right) is the southern terminus of NY 170, and West Monroe carries NY 169 out of the city.
Southbound in Little Falls, as NY 169 turns left on Albany Street from North Ann Street, it abuts northbound NY 167, which approaches the same intersection from the west, turning southerly to join NY 5 east before joining NY 169 at East Main Street.
After a few miles of winding highway, NY 169 ends in Middleville at the western terminus of NY 29 and a turning corner of NY 28.
Based on Reference Markers, it appears that NY 169 may have started in downtown, and extended southward to give the city access to the Thruway.
