NEWPORT, JERSEY CITY
View of Newport from the Hudson River
'Newport' is a master-planned mixed use community in Jersey City, New Jersey, consisting of retail, residential, office, and entertainment facilities. Located on Jersey City's Hudson River waterfront, the new development is located opposite the World Financial Center in lower Manhattan. Development of Newport began in the 1980s, as a $10 billion project led by Samuel J. LeFrak and his firm, The LeFrak Organization[1]. Part of the Newport community is the Newport Centre Mall, an indoor shopping complex, and near the mall is a Target store which opened in 2004[2].
