''Nigel Barker'' (born 1973 in London, England) is a celebrated fashion photographer of British, Sri Lankan, Portuguese and Irish descent. He is best known for his participation as a judge and photographer on the reality show America's Next Top Model.
Barker attended Bryanston School, a boarding school,[1] where he took his A-levels in biology, chemistry, and physics. He planned on continuing his studies in medicine, but Barker's mother, a former Miss Sri Lanka, entered him into a televised model search on "The Clothes Show". Barker wound up being a finalist on the show, which started his modeling career. He modeled for about ten years in London, Milan, Paris and New York City.
Because of his modeling, Barker's love for fashion and photography grew, and in 1998 he decided to become a photographer. Nigel opened his own photo studio, StudioNB, in the now fashionable Meat Packing District in Manhattan. Barker's photo credits include GQ, Interview, Paper, Lucky and People. StudioNB's advertising clients include Beefeater Gin, Sean John, Pierre Cardin, Nicole Miller, OP, Ted Baker, Lands' End and Frederick's of Hollywood.
Barker was also an official judge for the Miss America Pageant in 2007.
Barker married model Cristen Chin[2] on September 16, 2001.[3] They have a son, Jack.
