'Noel Grisham Middle School' (NGMS, more commonly known as GMS) is a Middle School located in the Anderson Mill community in an unincorporated part of Williamson County, Texas near Austin. It is a candidate IB Middle Years Programme school.
It is part of the Round Rock Independent School District. It is the smallest middle school in the district. It has five subsidiary Elementary Schools:
★ Canyon Creek Elementary School
★ Purple Sage Elementary School
★ Spicewood Springs Elementary School
★ Anderson Mill Elementary
★ Forest North Elementary School
It follows on to Westwood, McNeil, and Round Rock high schools. Only a few Spicewood and Forest North students go to Grisham, most go to the other Middle Schools.
Grisham Middle School is known for its award winning Fine Arts program, their band the awards range from local UIL (University Interscholastic League) competition awards to many National awards. Also their Theatre department has won the Roundrock ISD Theatre Tournament 14 years in a row, plus they have won the Central Texas one-act play festival 4 years in a row.
Noel Grisham Middle School was founded in 1976 and was named after the superintendent of that time.
★ Grisham's band program taught by Betty Pierce. It has received numerous awards and performed at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago in December of 2003. During its concert, it was awarded the Sudler Cup award.
★ Grisham is also known for its orchestra, taught by Elizibeth Frederick, which has received numerous awards for UIL orchestra competitions.
★ As of the end of the 2003-2004 school year, the former former principal of GMS resigned his position and has gone on to work in the Austin Independent School District.
★ Grisham's theatre program is taught by Susan Dickson
★ The band recently received three "Superior" ratings from all three judges at the DC Festival Competition in San Antonio.
★ In February 2006, the Grisham Middle School Full Orchestra played at the 2006 TMEA Convention.
★ The Grisham Middle School honors band placed second in the 2005-2006 Honor Band Contest.
★ Since early in the 2006-2007 school year, there has been new principal of Grisham Middle School.
★ The Grisham Middle School Orchestra on March the 8th won straight ones at the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Competition
★ Grisham has won 2nd place in the RRISD's UIL Academic Competition. 6th grade won 3rd, 7th and 8th won 2nd.
