NORTH RED RIVER TOWNSHIP, MINNESOTA

'North Red River Township' is a township located in Kittson County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of three. According to the United States Census Bureau, it is one of only nine places in the United States with a population of three people. The others are
East Blythe, California, Rulien Township, Minnesota, Hush Lake, Minnesota, Pfeiffer Lake, Minnesota, Livermore, New Hampshire, Hillsview, South Dakota, Point of Rocks, Wyoming, and Hobart Bay, Alaska.
In 2000, North Red River Township was disorganized after the Minnesota legislature voted to allow Kittson County to dissolve the township without an election. [1]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 6100.4 km² (23.7 mi²). 60.6 km² (23.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 199.31% water.

As of the census² of 2000, there are three people, two households, and one family residing in the township. The population density was 0.0/km² (0.1/mi²). There were four housing units at an average density of 0.1/km² (0.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the township was 100.00% White.
Of the two households, one consists of an individual. Neither household has someone living alone who is sixty five years of age or older.
In the township the population was spread out with one person aged from eighteen to twenty four, one person from forty five to sixty four, and one who is sixty five years of age or older. The median age is fifty four years. There was one female and two males in the township, all over the age of 18.
