NYREE DAWN PORTER


Born 'Ngaire Dawn Porter', Nyree Dawn Porter, OBE, (January 22, 1940 - April 10, 2001) was an actress.
Born in Napier, New Zealand, she began her career as a stage actress before moving to Britain in the late 1950s.
She appeared in several television productions and is probably best remembered for her roles in ''The Forsyte Saga'' and ''The Protectors''. She also starred in an early episode of ''The Avengers'' called "Death on The Slipway".
She died as a result of complications after foot surgery.
Her stage name "Nyree" is the phonetic spelling of her birthname.
