OAK HILL ACADEMY (VIRGINIA)


Founded in 1878, 'Oak Hill Academy' is a co-educational, private Baptist-affiliated secondary school in Mouth of Wilson (Grayson County), Virginia, U.S. Oak Hill's enrollment of approximately 100 students is 98% boarders, serving grades 8-12.
Oak Hill is by far best known for its top-ranked boys' basketball program. Players hoping to be drafted into the NBA or recruited by top-flight college programs will often transfer to Oak Hill for their final one or two years of high school; the Oak Hill team in turn plays a travel-heavy national schedule designed to provide a high level of competition and national exposure for its players.
Head basketball coach, Steve Smith, is a 1977 graduate of Asbury College, a four-year Christian liberal arts college located in Wilmore, Kentucky.
