OMICRON TAURI

'Omicron Tauri' (ο Tau / ο Tauri) is a star in the constellation Taurus. It carries the Akkadian name '''Atirsagne''', meaning "The Verdant Sign" or "The Sign of Verdancy", referring to the ancient Babylonian belief that the Sun passes through the constellation Taurus (Akkadian ''Alap-same'' "Bull of Heaven") during the peak point of spring, when vegetation and flora are renewed with fresh greenery.
Omicron Tauri is a yellow G-type giant with an apparent magnitude of +3.61. It is approximately 212 light years from Earth.
