'Omni Hotels' is a privately owned upscale hotel company based in Irving, Texas. Omni currently owns and/or manages 36 properties of which 4 are resorts. The company also has 1 franchise property. One property in Fort Worth, Texas is currently under development. The hotel's two flagship properties are located in Dallas, Texas: The Omni Mandalay and The Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West[1]. Omni Hotel's current company President is Michael Dietemeyer and current owner is Robert Rowling. Their Central Reservation center is based in Omaha, Nebraska.

Founded in 1958 by the Dunfey family, the company began with Lamie's Motor Inn, a 32-room motor inn in Hampton, New Hampshire. Omni Hotels (then Dunfey Hotels) grew to over 8,000 rooms in the 1960s and '70s, changing hands twice, first to Aetna Insurance and then to Aer Lingus.
In 1983, Dunfey Hotels purchased Omni International Hotels, which had hotels in Atlanta, Miami, and Norfolk, Virginia. Dunfey then changed its name to Omni Hotels and began to rid itself of its midscale franchised properties and to focus more on its upscale downtown locations.
In 1988, Wharf Holdings of Hong Kong purchased Omni Hotels.
In 1996, TRT Holdings of Corpus Christi, Texas, purchased Omni Hotels North America, which included its current holdings (then nine hotels and 26 management contracts or franchise agreements) and the rights to the Omni Hotels brand name (excluding Asia).
In 1998, Omni Hotels acquired new properties in San Francisco, California, New Haven, Connecticut, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. In 1999, it purchased the Westin Mont Royal, bringing the brand into Canada for the first time.
In January 2007, Omni Hotels debuted its "Sensational Meetings" program, designed to offer a variety of customizable environments for meeting planners to choose from. The program offers choices of colors, music and scents to match the purpose of theme of a meeting.[1]
The Omni Hotels are mostly 4 diamond properties. They are family and pet friendly. Every hotel features 1 to 5 restaurants, and 24-hour room service. Most of the properties include health clubs, conceirge service, conceirge or club floors, day spas, lounges, a pool, and a business center.
Omni hotels features a frequent-stayer program called the "Omni Select Guest Program™". 1st level membership is complementary and includes morning beverage service, frequent flyer miles per qualifying stay, express check in and out, and records of personal preferences are kept. After 6 stays in any 2 year period a member is automatically upgraded to Select Guest Gold™ status, which includes guaranteed late check out of 5pm. Also, as long as it is not over a black out date (a date the hotel is expected to be overful from a large convention or holiday), and a gold member calls before 4 pm the day before, they are guaranteed a room. After the first stay as a Select Guest™, Once upgraded to Select Guest Gold™, and every 6 stays there after, A set of certificates often including 50% off and/or a complementary upgrade are sent out.
