The 'Ontario Freeway' is a segment of Interstate 15 in southern California, running through San Bernardino and Riverside counties. It is the principal north-south freeway through the fast-growing Inland Empire region, in the far eastern suburbs of Los Angeles.
Unofficially, it is called the 'Devore Freeway' because it goes through Devore, California.

The Route

After the Mojave Freeway crosses the Cajon Pass and enters the small town of Devore, it spawns a bypass route, Interstate 215 (the Escondido Freeway). I-15 continues from this junction as the Ontario Freeway. The freeway proceeds southward, re-entering the San Bernardino National Forest for a brief stretch, before turning due south in eastern Rancho Cucamonga. It proceeds in that direction through the remaining portion of San Bernardino County before crossing the San Bernardino/Riverside county line in southeastern Ontario. The Ontario Freeway then ends at Limonite Avenue in unincorporated Riverside County; I-15 continues thereafter as the Corona Freeway.

Legal definition

The Ontario Freeway is Route 15 from Limonite Avenue, south of
Route 60, to Route 215 at Devore, as named by Assembly Concurrent Resolution 10, Chapter 136 in 1989.[1]
