'Otto Frank' (June 21, 1865 - 1944) was a German physiologist. He was educated at Munich, Kiel, Heidelberg, Glasgow and Strassburg. He is best known, along with Ernest Starling, for the Frank-Starling law of the heart.
The law states that "Within physiological limits, the force of contraction is directly proportional to the initial length of the muscle fiber".
