PARKLAND MAGNET HIGH SCHOOL (WINSTON-SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA)


'Parkland Magnet High School' is a high school in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It offers an International Baccalaureate program and describes itself as a "Center for the Cultural Arts". It is known as the "Home of the Mustangs". Located on the southern side of Winston-Salem, it is easily accessible from Interstate 40, US Highway 52, and Peters Creek Parkway. The principal is Dr. Tim Lee, a long time member of the Forsyth County education system.
The schools ADM for the 2006-07 school year is 1547 students, which ranks 5th among the 70 Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools.

Parkland Magnet High School competes in a total of 29 mens and womens sports in the Piedmont Triad Conference at the NCHSAA's 3A level. Listed below are the schools state championship teams.

Trivia


The school takes its name from Parkland Memorial Hospital, the hospital where John F. Kennedy was brought to after he was shot. It was to be named 'South Forsyth High School'.
