PAUL GALVIN
'Paul Vincent Galvin' (June 271895 - November 51959) was one of the two founders of telecommunications company Motorola. Founded as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation on September 251928, Motorola is now a leader in communications equipment.
Galvin was born in Harvard, Illinois. He served as an artillery officer during World War I. During college he was an active member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity.
His son, Bob Galvin, directed the creation of the Six Sigma quality system when he was running the company. Bill Smith was the Motorola engineer responsible for creating Six Sigma.
