Biography

Barbieri was a model and aspiring actress prior to meeting O.J. The two met in 1992. She was 25 years old and he was 44. After dating for two years, Barbieri decided to end the relationship. It was on the night that she claims to have broken up with him that Simpson is accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
Barbieri did not end up leaving Simpson right away. Instead she stayed with him during the 18 month trial. They did break up a few weeks after Simpson’s acquittal. In a 1995 interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC TV's ''Prime Time Live'', she said, "I can't answer for Nicole, but I know for me if he ever laid a hand on me, I would not be there in the morning. I tell you that with not a moment's hesitation. Because he's never hit me." She went on to say, “I still believe Simpson was completely innocent.â€
In October of 1994, Barbieri posed for Playboy. She did some acting between 1994 and 1996. In 1997, Barbieri’s book, ''The Other Woman: My Years With O.J. Simpson: A Story of Love, Trust, and Betrayal'' was published. Salon gave it the Worst Book of the Year Award.
