PELTON, DURHAM

'Pelton' is a village in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, in England. It is located to the northwest of Chester-le-Street. The village of 'West Pelton' is located some distance to the west; separated from it by a few villages and closer to Stanley than to central Chester-le-Street. Pelton has two public houses, one RAOB club and a small range of convenience stores, including a greengrocers, three general stores, a Post Office, chemist, doctors surgery, dentist and no less than four take-away food outlets. Pelton is very well served by public transport, with links to Stanley, Newcastle, Chester le Street and Consett.
