PENAIR


'Peninsula Airways', usually called 'PenAir', is an American airline based in Anchorage, Alaska, USA. It is a commuter airline operating extensive scheduled passenger and cargo services to over 85 communities, as well as charter and medevac services. Its main base is Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, with hubs at Dillingham Airport, Unalaska Airport, King Salmon Airport and Cold Bay Airport.[1].

The airline was founded in 1955 by pilot Orin Seybert of Pilot Point. It started operations in 1956 concentrating on charter services, until scheduled services were started in 1973 between King Salmon and the Pribilof Islands communities. In 1985 it acquired all the assets of 'Air Transport Services' at Kodiak. In November 1991 PenAir became a codeshare partner of Alaska Airlines and is operated by the carrier on some of its destinations..
