'Penguin Group' is the second largest trade book publisher in the world. It is owned by Pearson PLC. Its United States arm is 'Penguin Group (USA)'; its British division is 'Penguin Books'.
Penguin Group (USA) was formed in 1996 as a result of the merger between Penguin Books USA and the Putnam Berkley Group.
The company uses many imprints which used to be independent publishers.[1]
