PENNSYLVANIA ROUTE 897


'Pennsylvania Route 897' is a 41 mile long north-south route in eastern Pennsylvania, United States. The southern terminus is at an intersection with U.S. Route 30 in Gap. The northern terminus is at U.S. Route 422 east of Lebanon. Like most Pennsylvania highways, PA 897 has no expressway characteristics along its path. PA 897 is located in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties.

Lancaster County

PA 897 begins at an intersection with US 30 in Gap. In Salisbury Township, PA 897 joins with Pennsylvania Route 340 for a half a mile. In East Earl Township, PA 897 joins with U.S. Route 322, then with Pennsylvania Route 23. In Brecknock Township, PA 897 passes over both Interstate 76/Pennsylvania Turnpike and U.S. Route 222 with no access to either one. In Adamstown, PA 897 meets Pennsylvania Route 272, named Lancaster Avenue.
Lebanon County

In Schaefferstown, PA 897 overlaps with Pennsylvania Route 419 and Pennsylvania Route 501. Although both PA 501 and PA 897 are signed as heading north, PA 419 is signed as heading south, creating a wrong-way concurrency. In South Lebanon Township east of Lebanon, PA 897 terminates at an intersection with US 422.
