Pierre-François Bouchard discovered the Rosetta Stone.

'Pierre-François Bouchard' (1772 - april 29 1832) was a French captain best known for discovering the Rosetta Stone in the Egyptian port city of Rosetta (present-day Rashid) on July 15, 1799. The Bouchard Translator is named after Pierre-François.
