PINE-SOL
'Pine-Sol' is a household cleaning agent used in bathrooms, kitchens, and other cleaning applications. The primary ingredients in Pine-Sol are pine oil, surfactants, and isopropanol. Pine-Sol is mainly used to clean grease and heavy soil stains and is antibacterial on non-porous surfaces. It is not recommended for direct use of wood surfaces (such as untreated hardwood floors), but can be used on hardwood floors coated with a sealant.
The detergent was invented by Harry A. Cole in 1929. The Pine-Sol brand was acquired by Clorox in 1990.
Diane Amos is best known as the "Pine-Sol Lady," with her catch phrase, saying it in a sassy voice, "That's the power of Pine-sol." She attended George Washington High School in San Francisco, California. She is also a movie actress, comedian and game show contestant on The $25,000 Pyramid (later appearing as a celebrity on the Donny Osmond version) and Super Password.
