PIONEER HIGH SCHOOL (WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA)

In his first California appearance as President, Ronald Reagan visited Pioneer High School on July 1, 1983 and declared the school as one of the best in the nation. "It was, above all, something of a school rally. There were banners, there were cheers, and, before it ended, there was President Reagan, using the occasion and the setting to celebrate how a problem school had turned itself around.
