PLAIN-THROATED SUNBIRD


The 'Plain-throated Sunbird' ('''Anthreptes malacensis''') is a species of bird in the Nectariniidae family.
It is found in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical mangrove forests.

Plumage


Both sexes have bright yellow underparts.
'Males' have brighter and iridecent upperparts while 'Females' have dull olive-green upperparts.

The females are difficult to separate from female red-throated sunbirds (''Anthreptes rhodolaema''), but males can be separated by sides of head which are dark green while red-throated sunbird's are maroon-red.

Approximate total body length is 14 cm.
