PLOPSALAND DE PANNE
(Redirected from Plopsaland)
'Plopsaland De Panne' is a theme park located near the town of De Panne on the Belgian coast. The park opened on 20 April 2000. Before that date the park was called Meli-Park, based on a bee theme.
Since the foundation of the park in 2000, the figures of the popular Belgian and Dutch figures of Studio 100 can be found. All the attractions have a theme from one of the soaps or musicbands of the group. There are attractions of Kabouter Plop, Samson & Gert, Big & Betsy, Piet Piraat and Wizzy & Woppy.
In 2006 there opened 3 new attractions: the 'SuperSplash' (in a whole new Piratezone), the 'SpringFlyer' ("Spring" is a populair soap on the Belgian television, is Dutch for "Jump") and a 'K3-museum'. Next year, Plopsaland De Panne will open a renewed Kabouter Plop-area, with 2 new attractions.
The park is divided into several areas:
★ Entrance-area (inkomszone)
★ Gnome Plop garden (Plop-tuin)
★ Castle-area (Kasteelzone)
★ Pirate-area (Piratenzone)
★ Wizzy & Woppy area (Wizzy en Woppy zone)
★ The farm of Big & Betsy (Big en Betsy hoeve)
★ The carnival of Samson & Gert (De Kermis - van Samson & Gert - zone)
The park has 4 roller coasters, with no inversion. The coaster "'Dongo's race'" (Wizzy & Woppy area) is the oldest coaster in Belgium and opened in 1976. The SuperSplash (a Mack SuperSplash / watercoaster) opened in 2006.
