PODOLIA GOVERNORATE

'Podolia Governorate' was a governorate (''guberniya'') of Russian Empire in 1793 – 1917. It was situated at the southwestern border of the Empire (bordering Austria-Hungary) and had an area of about 42,000 km². The administrative centre was Kamenets-Podolskiy.
