'''BBC Points West''' (known as '''News West''' from June 1991 until May 2000) is the BBC's regional news programme for the West of England, covering Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. Produced by the BBC region BBC West, bulletins are presented mainly by Chris Vacher, Alex Lovell and David Garmston. Past presenters include Michael Buerk, Shaun Ley and Susan Osman.
The programme's current presentation style and studio design was introduced on 7 June 2004; the theme music is unique to the programme and not used by any other BBC region.
The programme can be watched in any part of the UK via SkyDigital channel 986 (101 in the West itself). As it is Free-To-Air it is also available throughout Europe via a digital satellite system pointed at Astra 2D.
