POLIZZI GENEROSA
'Polizzi Generosa' is a town (population 4,530) in the Province of Palermo on the island of Sicily in Italy. The town sits in the hills at 917 meters (3,008 feet), and was probably founded in late Middle Ages, growing around the castle built by the Norman Count of Sicily Roger I in 1076.

Although a small town, some people with connections to Polizzi Generosa have gone on to become well known.
★ The families of Sicilian Americans such as film directors Martin Scorsese and Anthony Scarpa as well as character actor Vincent Schiavelli, came from the town.
