POMFRET SCHOOL


'Pomfret School' is an independent coeducational boarding and day school located in Pomfret, Connecticut, United States that educates grades 9 through 12. The school also offers a post-graduate year. It is dedicated to the goals of helping students realize their intellectual, physical and spiritual potential while recognizing their responsibilities as members of a community.
Pomfret School was founded by William E. Peck in 1894 on the principles of intellectual rigor and the development of character. Peck is the former head of St. Mark's School.
Pomfret operates WBVC, an FM radio station.
Pomfret is located next to The Rectory School on Connecticut Route 169.

In October 2004, Pomfret School opened the doors of its new athletic center and student union. The athletic center was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Jon Corzine, parents of a recent Pomfret graduate. Mr. Corzine is the current Governor of New Jersey.
