'Ponderosa High School' is a high school in Parker, Colorado. It is part of Douglas County School District RE-1.
The school earned an "Excellent" rating on the Colorado Student Assessment Program in 2004, and a "High" score in 2005.1

Ponderosa has won seven 5A state wrestling titles since 1997, including 5 consecutive between 2003-2007. In addition, Ponderosa has a perfect 110-0 conference dual record from 1994-present [2]. The team is coached by Tim Ottmann.

April 20th, 2007


On April 20th, 2007, the 8th anniversary of the Columbine Massacre, an explosion was heard behind the school. The students were evacuated, and classes were canceled for the remainder of the day. The student that had detonated the device was caught, and found with unmixed chemicals in his backpack. No one was injured.
