PONT READING
'Pont Reading' is the name of the Haverford, Pennsylvania residence of shipbuilder and architect Joshua Humphreys, in which he lived his entire life, named after his family's homestead, Reading Pont in England. Humphreys is most notable for his design of the famous USS ''Constitution'', or "Old Ironsides". Built in 1730, the building draws minimal tourist attention, but is listed on the Historic American Building Survey and National Register. The house remains a private residence to this day. The building is an excellent example of upper-class colonial architecture.
