POPPO OF DEINZE
Saint 'Poppo' (Deinze, 977–Marchiennes, 25 january 1048), of noble descent, was the first recorded Flemish pilgrim to the Holy Land. Afterwards he turned to a monastic life, and eventually became abbot of Stavelot.
His feast day is 25 january.
