Port Macquarie-Hastings is a local government area in New South Wales, Australia. It is on the Hastings River, the Pacific Highway, the Oxley Highway and the North Coast railway line.
The name was officially changed from ''Hastings'' in August 2005 following the results of a random community survey. The council has estimated the population of Port Macquarie and its immediate surrounding area to be approximately 62,000.
Major population centres in the district are Port Macquarie, Camden Haven (including the towns of Dunbogan, Kendall, Kew, Laurieton, North Haven and West Haven) and Wauchope. The area was formerly known as the Hastings, but the name was changed in 2005 following a community survey, showing that many people thought that the new name would better reflect the area.
