PRESCOTT, WASHINGTON
'Prescott' is a town in central Walla Walla County, Washington, United States. The population was 314 at the 2000 census.
Prescott was named in 1881 after C.H. Prescott, the general superintendent of the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company after he designated it as the location for the railway's division shops.
Prescott was officially incorporated on March 13, 1903.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 314 people, 123 households, and 87 families residing in the town. The population density was 356.6/km² (919.9/mi²). There were 152 housing units at an average density of 172.6/km² (445.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 94.59% White, 0.32% African American, 0.96% Native American, 1.59% from other races, and 2.55% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.14% of the population.
There were 123 households out of which 36.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.5% were married couples living together, 11.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.5% were non-families. 22.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.01.
In the town the population was spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 32.2% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 127.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.3 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $39,500, and the median income for a family was $47,708. Males had a median income of $34,750 versus $23,250 for females. The per capita income for the town was $16,931. About 13.8% of families and 18.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 24.4% of those under age 18 and 10.3% of those age 65 or over.
